The Gold Coast is quickly generating a reputation beyond just its glorious beaches and sun, and it’s fast paced activities, to be a place where there are some seriously good places to eat.
Every palate, every style and every budget is catered for. Here’s our guide to our favourite restaurants on the Gold Coast.
Little Truffle occupies a special place in the Gold Coast dining scene. The menu is a kind of hybrid between modern Australian and traditional European. Among the more popular, signature dishes are any form of confit duck — done in a sous vide machine which cooks it via a water circulator; the Moreton Bay bugs with prawn tortellini, which has been on the menu since day one; plus a vegetable tempura zucchini flower full of Persian feta, toasted pine nuts and parsley with Ridgeway’s own tomato relish.
Allure in Currumbin was recently named the second best restaurant in Australia by Trip Advisor. Yes, in all of Australia. Featuring all-Australian produce and fresh seafood (the prawns come straight off the trawler at Main Beach) it describes itself as ‘elegant casual dining’.
Hellinika on Nobby Beach is the best Greek Restaurant on the Gold Coast. All the meats are cooked on a large charcoal grill. Give the five-hour slow-baked Junee Lamb Shoulder or the charcoal-grilled octopus a try.
